Considerations for Your Plan: Before jumping into the specifics, let's consider a few vital elements that will shape your training strategy:




  1. Your Position(s):

  • Understand the demands of your playing positions to tailor your training accordingly.

  1. Your Biggest Technical Strengths:

  • Identify and prioritize your standout technical skills that set you apart.

  1. Alignment with Your Game/Position:

  • Assess how your strengths align with the requirements of your game or position.

  1. Addressing Weaknesses:

  • Pinpoint weaknesses that might hinder your strengths and plan to improve them.

Planning Your Training: Now, let's put the plan into action:

Frequency:

  • Decide on the number of sessions per week (3-4 recommended) to maintain consistency.


Session Categories:

  1. General Technical Work:

  • Activities like juggling, ball mastery, and ball manipulation warm you up and enhance coordination.

  1. Highlighting Strengths:

  • Isolate and intensively work on a specific strength. For instance, if your strength is crossing, focus on various cross variations.

  1. Addressing Weaknesses:

  • Identify weaknesses that could impede your primary skill. If it's crossing, work on beating a defender, first touch for setting up the cross, or finding ways to navigate around defenders.

  1. Position-Specific Integration:

  • Finally, bring it all together by relating the skills to your playing position. For example, if you're a winger working on first touch, beating a defender, and crossing, simulate a match environment to practice these skills at game speed.
